A Festival First...
About half-way through his Saturday night set, Ralph Peterson stepped away from his drum set, took a mic in hand to requset that a certain woman in the audience, his videographer, come sit on the stage near him. She shyly did so. As he took a small item from his pocket he said that it mattered not if you knew someone for only minutes or days or weeks or months or years, if she is the right person for you, you've got to act. Ralph got down on his knee, extended the item in his hand to her and said, "Will you?" We watched with suspended breath. She stood, Ralph stood. They rushed into each other's arms for a long hug. We applauded. Ralph returned Diane Green to her chair of honor and himself to his drums, triumphantly stating "She said YES!" as he launched into his next number. The engagement of Ralph Peterson and Diane Green, right there on the CPFJ 28th Annual Festival stage Saturday, May 31st, 2008 is a Festival First for us! Indeed, we extend our very warmest best wishes and congratulations to them both for a long and happy life together!
